The Ilsa Gromemeijer Continuing Education Scholarship for
Non-Traditional Students Application

Scholarship Guidelines:

Application Deadline: May 10th, 2025

Fill out application found at top of the page and submit via email along with supplementary sections below -- personal statement and letters of recommendation (contact information below).

Adults, regardless of gender, living in either Franklin or Essex County, returning to school after an absence from formal education of a year or more, with a preference given to residents of the Saranac Lake Central School District, are eligible to apply.

1. Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

2. Applicants must provide financial information.

3. Applicants must fill out a short application.

4. A short history and goals statement must be submitted in a personal letter with the application (application is separate).

5. Applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.

6. Applicant may receive a phone call if the committee has questions.

7. Applications and letters are due no later than the second (2nd) Friday in May

8. Applications may be picked up at: Saranac Lake Free Library NCCC Foundation Office or on NCCC website Financial Aid Office, Paul Smith’s College

9. $3,000 scholarships are available.

Scholarships will be awarded by check to the winners once the club reviews a copy of proof of enrollment.
